Stovall Done at Olympics after Missing Finals by 1-100th of a Second

One can only guess how Memphian Gil Stovall feels after traveling halfway around the world to represent the U.S. In the Olympics in Beijing, China... Only to come THIS CLOSE to making the finals....and NOT getting it done.

As we told you last night.. Stovall, the NCAA Record Holder in the 200 Meter Brestroke, swam a 1:55.36 second turn in the semifinals....only to come 1-100th of a second off what he needed to qualify for the Finals.

After the race, the Former Ridgeway High and Memphis Tiger Swim Club star, could barely explain what happened.

"It was definitely not as good as last night....wasn't really what i wanted this morning. I don't know what happened...."

American Michael Phelps is the top qualifier for the finals in his quest for an unprecedented 8-gold medals in these Olympic Games.
