Fire Department vehicles involved in chain reaction accident

Two Memphis Fire Department vehicles were involved in a chain-reaction accident late Thursday afternoon.

According to MFD spokesperson Lt. Keith Staples, the accident began when a department automobile was struck by another car near Scott Street and the Poplar Avenue viaduct.

When another vehicle arrived to help, Staples said, a second car struck it.

No one was seriously injured in either accident, but traffic is backed up in the area of Scott and Poplar.
