Hickory Hill still struggling to rebuild six months after storms

In February, a tornado blew through the Mid-South causing wide-spread damage, yet one Hickory Hill community still looks the same over six months later.

Lawrence Madden keeps his front yard well-manicured, even though he has been living elsewhere. Madden's home was heavily damaged after the tornado tore through Hickory Hill, wiping out his neighborhood, and heavily damaging his home.

Since, he has suffered a heart attack, and has been locked in a court battle with a contractor he said did not deliver.

Madden just wants to be like his buddy and longtime neighbor William Brown.  The twister left Brown with a house in shambles, but his house has since been put together again.

Everywhere Madden looks, he sees unfulfilled need.  Volunteers, politicians all visited in the days after the storm.

"Other than that, we don't seen nobody since," Brown said.

A response long since gone. But Madden and Brown plan to stick around no matter the condition next door.
