This week's "Your Turn" segment goes to Jerry Floate of Tate County, Mississippi. Floate wrote to complain about what he says are high taxes and poor government oversight in Tate County.

In his words:

"Our board of supervisors wants to raise our taxes again. We already rank fourth highest out of 90-something counties in Mississippi. The hike will make us the highest. Also, our tax collector has recently and suddenly resigned. Something stinks. Tate County is not a poor county. We are close to Memphis and we have plenty of resources. There is no reason for us to have the highest millage rate in the state. Our elected officials need to do a better job of handling the finances. This is the poorest run county in the state."

That's Jerry Floate's turn. Now it's your turn. To comment on this segment or anything else, email yourturn@wmctv.com or call 800-465-1210.
