Police search for suspects in gas station robbery

A victim is recovering and Horn Lake police are searching for the suspect.

The man was beaten at a gas station he and his girlfriend stopped at on their road trip to LSU from Iowa.

One thing that is scary about watching the video is that there were not any warning signs about what was about happen him, which shows it is something that could happen to anyone.

The man came up from behind the LSU student at a Horn Lake Circle K.

The suspect threw the victim to the ground and beat him until he was bleeding.

"Quite a bit of blood. If you just saw the blood you'd think someone was shot or stabbed," Lt. Troy Rowell of the Horn Lake Police Department said.

It all began at 12:30 am Tuesday morning. The maroon SUV pulled up at the Circle K on Goodman. The two suspects got only six dollars worth of gas for the SUV. Then as soon as the victim's car pulled in the station, the suspects pulled up beside it. The victim's girlfriend went into the gas station and the victim checked on his cats in the backseat. That is when this man grabbed the victim around the neck and threw the student to the ground. Then a second man hit the student and got in the victim's car to look for his keys and wallet.

The students keys were with his girlfriend and his wallet was in the backseat.

"Not like they went up to him and said give me your keys and wallet and left, they actually beat him pretty good," Rowell said.

Police want you to get a good look at the suspect.

They say his picture was captured when he went in to pay for gas before the beating.

Lt. Rowell said they need your help to get the guys off the streets.

"They beat this innocent victim as he was passing through the area," Rowell said.

The victim was left with a busted nose and a knot over his eye.

If you recognize either one of the men, call the Horn Lake Police Department at 662-393-6174.
