Former Crittenden Co. deputy under investigation for exposing himself

A former Crittenden County Sheriff's deputy accused of exposing himself is under investigation and off the job.

Eugene Bridges is accused of exposing himself in July to a woman visiting her brother at the Arkansas jail. The woman also says Bridges asked her for sex.

The alleged incident is under investigation. No charges have been brought against him.

A spokesperson confirmed that Bridges was terminated from his job in July, but wouldn't confirm the reason, saying it was a personal matter and had nothing to do with the allegations.

Several years ago, a former neighbor accused Bridges of luring her to his home and trying to kiss her several times. According to that police report, he asked her to come to his house to see a new addition -- a bedroom. Bridges was never charged in that alleged incident.

Bridges said he believes his termination was politically motivated because he ran against the current Crittenden County Sheriff. "I think it's politically motivated I don't work anymore," he said. "I'm 70 years old, will be soon. I'm fully retired."
