West Nile victims recovering in Clarksdale

Two Clarksdale, Mississippi residents are recovering tonight from the West Nile Virus.

Clarksdale is located 75-miles south of Memphis.

Officials there have assembled a task force to educate people on the virus.

In an attempt to eradicate mosquitoes that spread the West Nile Clarksdale launched a massive spraying and grass cutting effort.

Officials say the two people diagnosed with West Nile were treated before the virus became life threatening.

Clarksdale Mayor Henry Espy said, "One was very young and one was in that elderly group."

Mayor Henry Espy is part of Clarksdale's West Nile Virus task force.

He says the two people infected do not want their identities made public.
