Tigers Get Hoop Recruit from Yankees

You ever think a school has such a good thing going that it's mere Name recruits itself?

University of Memphis Basketball in falling into that territory.

The Tigers on Tuesday, get a recruiting gift, from the New York Yankees of all places. 

Several Baseball and Basketball websites confirm C.J. Henry, the Yankees top Draft pick of 2005 is enrolling and Memphis and will play THIS season as a Walkon.

Henry was a 2-sport star coming out of High school in Oklahoma City and had originally signed to hoop with Kansas...but picked Baseball and the Yankees, who made him the 17th overall pick.

He's hit for about a .235 average in the minors..and was traded to the Phillies in '06 in a package deal for Bobby Abreu and Cory Lidle.

C.J.'s Major League Contract will pay his tuition at Memphis.

One other Nugget, Henry's little Brother, Xavier, is rated one the top players in the Nation.

Xavier is reportedly deciding between Memphis, and Kansas.
