He's C.J. Henry...the Basketball, turned Pro Baseball phenom who's decided to give hoops another try.
He worked out in the Finch Center Weight Room on Campus with other Tiger Basketball Players Friday.
Henry, a sturdy 6'3", 215lb point guard, has played shortstop the last 3-years in the Yankees and Phillies organizations..
He was a first round pick out of High School..
Henry was also a Highly touted Basketball star who had signed with Kansas...
Sr. Year he averaged more than 23-points, 5-rebounds, 4-assists and 2-steals a game in leading his Oklahoma City High School team to a 25-and-2 record.
So, why pick Memphis for a return to the court?
"Good coaches, great facilities and the chance to win a national championship."
Tigers Head Coach John Calipari adds:
"He's a 6'3" athletic point guard. He's a great shooter, I mean every time he shoots it you'll think its going in. I think he'll do whatever we want him to do."
A plus to having Henry on Campus...it COULD give the Tigers a leg up on recruiting his Little Brother..
Xavier Henry is widely considered one of the two Best Prep Players in America..
