I-55 in Mississippi back to 2-way traffic

JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - Interstate 55 in south Mississippi is back to two-way traffic.

State Department of Transportation officials ended contraflow Sunday evening.

In contraflow, all lanes were used for northbound traffic for Hurricane Gustav evacuation.       State emergency officials said they expect to end contraflow late Sunday or early Monday on Interstate 59 in south Mississippi.

The system of one-way traffic was put in place in early Sunday morning from the Louisiana line to Poplarville, Mississippi, on I-59 and from the Louisiana line to Bogue Chitto, Mississippi.
