Mississippi State Senior Linebacker Jamar Chaeney will MISS the rest of the season after having surgery for a broken Leg..
That just adds injury to the insult of the Bulldogs season opening loss at Louisiana Tech over the weekend.
State Head Coach Sylvester Croom says the 22-to-14 loss to LA Tech had nothing to do with a lack of respect for a non-Southeastern Conference opponent.
He says, it's never about the opponent...even though Techs' victory was the first by a Western Athletic Conference team over a BCS Conference foe in 5-years.
Nope...Croom says it's all about the Bulldogs, and on that night, State was its' own worst enemy.
"Nothing Louisiana Tech did denied us winning the game. They had nothing to do with those penalties. Nothing with us fumbling. Absolutely nothing. That's what it came down to..and that's what we have to get corrected to play good hard nosed Football. It's not confusing..just have to get it done."
Croom says Grass Drills are the order of the day till his team gets it right.
State hosts Southeast Louisiana in it's home opener this Saturday in Starkville.
