Woman's body discovered in car at Memphis gas station

MEMPHIS, TN (WMC-TV) - Memphis police are investigating a suspicious death that was discovered early Tuesday morning.

Officials said around 6:00 a.m. Tuesday, police were called to a gas station in the 1700 block of Whitten, near I-40, where a woman was found dead inside a car.

Investigators have not said how the woman died, but called her death suspicious.

The woman's body was discovered when a delivery driver at the gas station noticed her car parked across several spaces.

Police have a person of interest in custody, but have not filed charges in the case, and have not released the woman's identity.
