Police on the lookout for shed burglar

MEMPHIS, TN (WMC-TV) - In this week's edition of the Evergreen Historic District newsletter, Memphis police are asking for the public to be on the lookout for a burglar who's been doing some illegal shopping for lawn equipment.

Police say the most recent victim of the 'shed burglar'  was hit this week in the 1500 block of North Parkway.   Residents who last saw the suspect said was driving an older model blue Lincoln Continental with Mississippi license plates.

According to police, if not properly stowed, your lawn mower, leaf blower, weed wacker or hedge clippers are an invitation for thieves.

But, some common sense tips can put burglars our of business. Be sure your storage area is closed and locked, and if there's a gate leading to your backyard, make sure it is locked, too.

If you think you have spotted the shed burglar, contact Memphis police.
