Man busted after posting ads for prostitutes on Craigslist

MEMPHIS, TN (WMC-TV) - Shelby County Sheriff's detectives have arrested a man for posting ads on the internet to generate business for area prostitutes, officials said Tuesday.

Acting on a tip Monday afternoon, detectives arrested Henry Gardner, 58, in his room at a southeast Memphis motel.  Investigators believe Gardner, who lived in the room, used a laptop computer to generate advertisements for local prostitutes, then posting the ads on the internet website "Craigslist."

According to investigators, the prostitutes did not conduct their business at the motel Gardner lived in, but at other places in the community.  Prostitutes allegedly paid Gardner $50 per day to post their ads.

Gardner was arrested this past April on charges of promoting prostitution in Tipton County.

Also at the motel, detectives arrested Jessica Glass, 24, who was wanted on a cocaine possession charge.  Glass was found standing outside the hotel.

Also arrested was Janet Lee, 46, who was wanted for possessing drug paraphernalia.  Investigators said Lee and another woman were staying in Gardner's room.
