Ole Miss officials remain focused despite uncertainty

OXFORD, MS (WMC-TV) - With the presidential debate up in the air, University of Mississippi officials remain focused.

At first, university officials were not prepared to comment on a potential debate debacle. Referring all questions to the committee on presidential debates. In the meantime, there is an air of uncertainty among many students.

"It's stirring up controversy on campus and we're not sure what's going to happen. Guess we'll have to wait and see," Chris Presley of Batesville said.

Some are ready for the glare of International attention to be over, and hope both candidates will come around.

"Shoot. They just need to come over here and get it over with. It's just one day, so get the debate over with and pick up and leave," Michael Villa of Pearl, MS said.

University officials said they will be happy either way.

Another university official did use the word "devastated" in reference to a potential debate cancellation saying he does not know if the university could handle a re-scheduled debate.
