THP officer resigns, another placed on leave

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - The state Safety Department says a Highway Patrol trooper resigned after not turning in traffic citations she wrote, and another officer has been put on administrative leave.

Trooper Charlene Green was placed on probation Sept. 26 while THP Criminal Investigations Division officers investigated allegations she did not turn over citations to local courts. The department this week accepted Green's resignation in lieu of firing her.

Trooper Micah Board was put on leave with pay effective Friday, pending an ongoing internal investigation by the THP.

Board's allegations include possible criminal violations and violations of departmental policies and procedures. The department did not release further details.

Board, 31, was commissioned in June 2002, and is assigned to Cheatham County. Green, 32, was commissioned in January 2004, assigned to the Fall Branch District.
