Tigers Take Bullseye at C-USA Basketball Media Day

The Eyes of Conference USA Basketball are focused squarely on Memphis today..

And for Good Reason..

The Leagues' annual Media Day is taking place at FedExForum..but not every team is expecting another coronation of the Mighty Memphis Tigers.

Once again, the bullseye is on the backs of Memphis as the Tigers are picked to win Conference USA for the fourth straight year. But despite a trip to the National Championship, those around the league don't necessarily see the Tigers as untouchable.

UAB Sr. Robert Vaden, the Pre-Season Conference USA Player of the Year pick, says it helps Memphis is a National Program, but what better feather to put in your cap than by beating them.

Vaden says UAB is Healthy now and ready to roll with former All C-USA Guard Paul Delaney back from a knee injury that kept him out all last season.

Former Raleigh-Egypt High School star Lawrence Kinnard is a starting Forward for the Blazers.

He was on the last C-USA team to beat Memphis, that was March of 2006 at Bartow Arena in Birmingham.

Kinnard says it's the goal of the Blazers to Beat, not just  Memphis, but any other team in their path to get to the NCAA Tournament.

Memphis returns Seniors Robert Dozier and Antonio Anderson to the lineup.

Dozier, the team's top returning scorer and rebounder, enters the season as an 08-09 preseason All-C-USA pick.

New to the Blue and Gray, a host of freshman led by Tyreke Evans.

The phenom out of Pennsylvania has already been compared to former Tiger and NBA number one pick Derrick Rose.

The Tigers will raise their final four banner at FedExForum during Memphis Madness Friday Night.

The hope is adding something bigger and better at the end of this season.
