SOUTHAVEN, MS (WMC-TV) - When Southaven Police got word that Clemens Tinnemeyer could be in the area, they knew they had to take action.
"If he's been identified as possibly being involved, then we definitely want to talk to him," Deputy Steve Pirtle with the Southaven Police Department said.
Deputy Pirtle sent out an alert to all of his on-duty patrol officers urging them to be on the lookout for Tinnemeyer's pickup truck.
Pirtle said the vehicle is registered to an address in Bay St. Louis, Mississippi.
The Action News 5 investigators did find a number for that address and made a call; however, the phone was disconnected.
But Investigators aren't giving up. They're continuing to follow up on all leads.
"We will try to locate the potential address of the suspect that may have moved in the area by the various sources we use to check records. If we're unable, we'll be in contact with Nevada to see if they had any additional leads," Pirtle said.
Meanwhile, Nevada police said Tinnemeyer has a criminal history in Las Vegas and owes millions to Cole's kidnappers.
"Based on information and statements that were made, we do believe that the money is the primary target. They went in and ransacked that home and as a form of ransom, they kidnapped Cole," Capt. Vincent Cannito of the Las Vegas Police Department said.
That is why authorities are hoping they will find Tinnemeyer soon. They said right now he is the only one in family that has the connection that could lead police to Cole Puffinburger.
