WATERLOO, Iowa (AP) - A van carrying prisoners has collided with a Waterloo school bus, injuring two guards and five prisoners.
A 13-year-old girl on the bus also was taken to the hospital by her parents with minor injuries.
The crash occurred Monday morning when the van apparently rear-ended the bus.
The van was operated by Con-Link Transportation Corp. of Memphis, Tenn.
Capt. Pat Treloar with the Waterloo Fire Department says a fire and rescue crew had to pull the guard who was driving the van from the vehicle.
Hospital spokesman Jim Waterbury says all the guards and prisoners are in stable condition.
Neither the van's destination nor why it was in Waterloo was clear.
