U.S. Open Racquetball Championships Hit Memphis

The U.S. Open Racquetball Championships return to Memphis with a new star player.. it's THE COURT!

A new all-glass playing area was developed for the tournament to give fans a full 360 degree view of the event. All four walls are crystal clear Lucite, made right here in the Memphis area by Lucite Industries. The players, like defending champion Rhonda Rasitch, and 3-time champ Kane Wassallenchuk, can't wait to take a swing at it.

'I hit on it earlier and I really like it. It's totally different and its exciting,' said Rasitch.

Wassallenchuk says the real winner is the fans.

'It's also really cool for the fans. You can see from every angle. It's something racquetball really, really needed.'

All the top seeds on the pro circuit will be here as well as more than 700 amateur players. The U.S. Open Racquetball Championships run Wednesday through Sunday at the Racquet Club of Memphis.
