MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) - The University of Memphis has lost its third quarterback in two weeks.
True freshman quarterback Tyler Bass, who alternated with starter Brett Toney in Saturdays 36-30 Conference USA win over Southern Miss, underwent an MRI Monday and will be lost for the season with a torn anterior cruciate ligament.
The Tigers lost starter Arkelon Hall and backup Will Hudgens to injuries the previous weekend in a loss at East Carolina. Hall fractured his thumb and will be out at least three more weeks. Hudgens tore his right ACL and medical collateral ligament and is out for the season.
Memphis (4-5 overall, 2-3 C-USA) is off this week before returning against SMU next weekend.
