MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC-TV) - A 7-year-old girl was shot in the eye outside a gas station on Raleigh-Millington road while trick-or-treating Halloween night.
Court documents say doctors told the child that she may lose sight in one eye as the result of being shot with a paintball gun.
Three people, 18-year-old Diquane Aldridge and two 15-year-olds, have been charged with aggravated assault and reckless endangerment.
A clerk at Mapco on Raleigh-Millington Road said seven trick-or-treaters ranging in age from 7 to about 14 entered the store around 7:00 Friday night. She said the shooting happened about an hour later as the children headed back home.
Court documents say seven other people on the scene were shot at.
Victims told police the shooters were in a Camaro.
At about 9:00 p.m., police found the car with a paintball gun in clear view. The driver told officers that he and his companions had been shooting at people on the street.
