Annual Day of Caring

As America Remembers, Mid-Southerners used this day to help those in need.

More that 13-hundred volunteers turned out for today's Annual Day of Caring sponsored by the United Way's Annual Day of Caring.

The event allowed volunteers to do charity work at hundreds of nursing homes, churches, and other locations.

Volunteer Raediah Holland said, "It just makes me feel good, its very good to be able to do something for somebody else."

The Day of Caring activities were scheduled to coincide with the anniversary of the September 11th attacks.

During today's activities, volunteers stopped for a moment of silence to remember those affected.
