MEMPHIS, TN (WMC-TV) - Nearly a dozen students were taken into custody after a brawl broke out on a school bus Wednesday afternoon, a Memphis City Schools spokesperson said.
The incident happened while the bus was near the intersection of North Watkins and Frayser Boulevard, while the students were on their way home from school.
Officials said it was possibly the same bus on which the mother of a student was accused of waving a gun around Tuesday morning.
The bus driver apparently pulled over in a laundromat parking lot in order to try to calm the students down. A number of students, all of whom appeared to be teenagers, sat in the back of two patrol cars when an Action News 5 crew arrived at the scene.
Officials have not said what charges the students will face, if any, or what disciplinary action the school district might take.
