Rebels Need One for Bowl Eligibility

This is the Week it could...and probably should, happen for the Ole Miss Football team.

The Goal of 6 wins and bowl eligibility is right there for the taking.

Ole Miss, with a 5 and 4 overall record, can reach that coveted 6-win plateau with a win over Non-Conference foe Louisiana-Monroe Saturday.

A win would make the Rebels Bowl Eligible for the first time since Eli Manning led them to the Cotton Bowl in 2003.

But, you won't catch Ole Miss Coach Houston Nutt counting his W's before they hatch.

Nutt says:

"There's nobody on my team..not one player, can afford to look forward in January and think about anything. They haven't done that. Not one guy has gone to a Bowl, so it think it's rediculous for us to think we'll have time to think or talk about where we'd like to go. We've got to get Bowl eligible."

Bowls from Memphis to Nashville to Atlanta have their eye on the Rebels this week.

Kickoff for Ole Miss and Louisiana-Monroe is 1pm Saturday in Oxford.
