Atoka woman in critical condition after hit-and-run

ATOKA, TN (WMC-TV) - An Atoka woman remains in critical condition after she was struck by a hit-and-run driver late Monday night as she was walking near Rosemark, Shelby County Sheriff's Department spokesperson Steve Shular said.

According to Shular, Crystal Banks, 38, was walking north on Rosemark Road near Tracey Road just before midnight Monday when she was struck by a small, dark-colored pick-up truck.

The driver of the truck kept going.  Banks was found by a passerby moments later.

Investigators believe the front of the truck that struck Banks may have been damaged during the incident on its ride side, near the headlight.

Banks has not been able to provide investigators with much information due to her condition.

If you have information about the incident that could help investigators, call the Shelby County Sheriff's Department at 901-867-1420 or CrimeStoppers at 901-528-CASH.
