Tigers' Henry On Comeback Trail

It's been three years since C.J. Henry played organized basketball.  But could he soon be running the show for the University of Memphis? The 22 year old Henry left high school in Oklahoma City as a prep All-American hoop star in 2005. But, he spent the next 3 years playing minor league baseball, first as a Million Dollar Bonus baby in the Yankees organization, and later with the Cincinnati Reds.

Now Henry is returning to his basketball roots as a U of M Freshman...a journey delayed by surgery to repair a broken foot. Tigers Head Coach John Calipari says the 6'3", 210 pound Point Guard is now healed and getting back into shape.

"He hasn't run in 3 months and he's gone four days, so you could say that he looks good. But he's a-ways away. We're just gonna work with him everyday and see where we can push him but I want it to be an all positive thing so he can come back quicker."

Henry could see some game action as soon as next Tuesday against Marist.
