Byhalia man killed in crash with fleeing suspect

CORINTH, Miss. (AP) - Corinth police say an SUV chased by Tennessee police hit a car, killing a 41-year-old Byhalia man and injuring his wife and 23-month-old son.

William Marion died at a hospital. Police say Susan and Ian Marion were released after treatment for moderate injuries from the crash on Thanksgiving afternoon.

Authorities were looking for 28-year-old Justin Hill, believed the driver of the SUV that the Tennessee Highway Patrol and Selmer police had been chasing.

Corinth Police Chief David Lancaster says the Tennessee officers had turned off their sirens and flashers about four miles from the state line, and were following the SUV at normal speeds.       He says the SUV apparently lost control just after leaving Highway 45 and hit a car in a turn lane. Lancaster says the driver was last seen climbing a fence.
