Murdered news anchor's family wants death penalty

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (WMC-TV) - Just days after Curtis Vance of Marianna was arrested and charged with capital murder in the beating death of Little Rock news anchor Anne Pressly, her family is saying that they want the maximum penalty for Vance if he's convicted.
Pressly was found brutally beaten inside her home last October. She never regained consciousness and died 5 days later at a Little Rock hospital.
Pressly's father, Guy Cannady, says he believes that the crime against his daughter warrants the maximum penalty."The crime that he committed was so heinous and so violent that I think nothing short of the maximum sentence allowable under capital murder is the appropriate way to go."
Little Rock Police say a DNA test also connected Vance to the rape of a woman in Marianna.
Authorities hope to arraign Vance on those charges early next week.

He's currently being held without bond.
