EDMONDSON, AR (WMC-TV) - Crittenden County Sheriff's Deputies have arrested an Arkansas man wanted for a string of arsons, including a church.

Investigators say James Prackett, Jr. is responsible for setting five fires in the Arkansas town of Edmondson, including three in a 24 hour period.

Monday, residents of Edmondson breathed a collective sigh of relief.

"It had everyone on edge," resident Stewart Weaver said.

Deputies said Prackett was arrested after an eyewitness saw him leave a house set on fire Friday morning.

"I want to know why would you burn houses down, let alone a church?" asked resident Michelle Jones.

Jones said people in Edmondson weren't surprised by the arrest.

"I noticed him," she said. "I'm like, 'Who's this strange guy (that) keeps walking around at night like that?'"

Now people in Edmondson say they will sleep easier, not wondering which home or church will go up in flames next.

Prackett has been charged with one count of arson and criminal trespassing in Friday' morning's fire.  So far, Friday's is the only arson he has been charged with.  He is being held on a $50,000.00 bond.
