Process server allegedly rips Memphis dentist from her bathroom

MEMPHIS, TN (WMC-TV) - A Memphis woman says a process server went too far early this week while serving her with papers.

Dentist Gloria Pryor said a man trying to serve her with legal papers showed up at her dental office Tuesday morning.

"When my receptionist came back to tell me that the process server was out there, I said, "Okay, well you see I'm busy with patients,'" Pryor said.

Pryor's employees said the man got tired of waiting, and pulled a coffee table up to the receptionist's window.

"He just pulls this up and steps over the counter," Pryor said.

The man jumped through the receptionist's window, Pryor said, and went looking for her.

"I was treated as if they were looking for a felon," she said.

The man eventually found Pryor as she was using the bathroom.

"The door snatched open, and my pants and panty hose are at mid-thigh," she said.

Then, Pryor claims, the man pulled her out of the bathroom, half-dressed, and served her the papers.

Friday, Pryor said she was in the process of filing assault charges.

"I believe and I know that he was over zealous," she said.

A receptionist at process server's employer said the man who served Pryor was working for them, and accused Pryor of fabricating her story.

Action News 5 will continue to follow this story.
