Newspaper appeals ruling in Pressly case

Anne Pressly Anne Pressly

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - The managing editor of the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette says his newspaper will ask the state Supreme Court to lift a seal on jail records involving the suspect in the death of a television anchorwoman.

David Bailey tells The Associated Press that lawyers for the newspaper planned to file the appeal by 5 p.m. Tuesday. The appeal seeks to overturn a decision by Little Rock District Judge Lee Munson to seal jail roster information and visitor logs for Curtis Lavelle Vance, 28, of Marianna.

Vance faces a capital murder charge in the killing of Anne Pressly, an anchorwoman for Little Rock ABC affiliate KATV. He has denied killing the 26-year-old.
