Police investigate 85-year-old woman's stabbing death

MEMPHIS, TN (WMC-TV) - An 85-year-old woman was found stabbed to death inside her Midtown home Tuesday afternoon.

Also suffering stab wounds were the woman's 54-year-old daughter and 19-year-old grandson.

Officials said the grisly scene unfolded at a residence in the 1200 block of Faxon avenue.

As paramedics raced to save the two surviving victims, neighbor Rannie Nunnely stood outside and watched.

"I'm fine, because I mind my business," she said.

Police worked long into the night, trying to figure our why the stabbings happened, and who was responsible.

Investigators said there was no sign of forced entry, leading them to believe a killer remains on the loose.

Police believe the suspect is a man, and he likely knows the victims.  Otherwise, they hope interviews with the survivors might solve the case.

Nunnely said she would rely on her faith for strength.

"When I'm in that house I'm praying," she said. "When I'm not praying, I got my bible in my hand."
