Freezing rain advisory issued for parts of Tenn.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) - The National Weather Service has issued a freezing rain advisory for portions of west and northwest Tennessee on Monday.

Forecasters say the region will receive a blast of Arctic air that will change rain into freezing rain early Monday in extreme west Tennessee. They say freezing rain will continue into Monday night in portions of extreme west Tennessee, with ice accumulations of up to a quarter inch possible.

The weather service says rain will change over to freezing rain around midday in portions of northwest Tennessee. The frozen precipitation will continue into Monday night, with ice accumulations around a tenth-of-an-inch possible.

Forecasters say rain will change over to freezing rain Monday afternoon across portions of west Tennessee, including Memphis and Jackson. The freezing rain will continue into the night, with minor ice accumulations expected.
