Bobcats Blast Grizzlies at Home

The Grizzlies 4 game winning streak came to an end Tuesday at the hands of the Hornets, but Memphis has a big opportunity to start another one against tonight's opponent.

The Grizz have a 7-and-1 all-time record against the Charlotte Bobcats franchise, their best winning percentage against any other team in the NBA.

Memphis hoping to gain back the momentum in the final two games of a 5 game homestand...

Rudy Gay hits the 3 pointer early...Grizzlies keeping it close to start this one...

Rudy showing his athleticism with the baseline slam....Gay leading the way for the Grizzlies with 17 points...

Problem was, the Bobcats were hitting EVERYTHING in the first half...

Gerald Wallace, the steal and the fast break lay in and foul...he had 22 for Charlotte.

Then Emeka Okafor with the slam, he adds 25 for the Cats...

Bobcats start pulling away...the former Longhorn, DJ Augustin with the jumper...Bobcats go up by 10...

Charlotte shooting 70 percent in the first half... They go into the break up by 10...

Second half was no better for Memphis...

Boris Diaw...knocking down the 3... a season-high 26 points for Diaw...

The numbers are just gaudy....Memphis shoots just 18 percent from 3 point range and is outrebounded 41-23...

O.J Mayo just 7 points, ending his streak of double-figure games at 25.

All of that's a recipe for disaster...

**Final, Memphis falls hard, 112-83.

Grizz Head Coach Marc Iavaroni says his team was feeling good about itself after a strong showing against the Hornets and didn't come with the same intensity against Charlotte, hence the blowout result.

Forward Rudy Gay says the Grizz have to go back to the Lab...meaning practice,  learn from what happened, and get ready to go again.

Next up, Grizzlies welcome Pau Gasol and the Lakers to FedExForum Monday night at 7.
