Wildlife experts: Rudolph is female

If you always thought Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer was male, you're in for a shock.

Wildlife experts at Texas A & M University say Rudolph and his sleigh-hauling friends are most likely females.

It turns out reindeer grow antlers regardless of gender, and most males generally shed their antlers before Christmas. That means Rudolph, Dasher, Dancer, Prancer and Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner and Blitzen are a team of females who probably don't mind stopping for directions.

And as one researcher put it, females like accessories and would probably appreciate a shiny nose that glows.
