Stop Thief! Blood Bank Burglary In The Medical District

This suspect caught on the Action News 5 Scam Cam is thought to be someone who may have regularly sold his blood at Tennessee Blood Services, 807 Poplar Ave. in the medical district.

Dec. 9, around 2 am, he climbed the security gate at the back of the blood bank, broke into two storage trailers and stole several tools, including a $1,170 jackhammer.

Blood bank owner Harold Stamey had rented the jackhammer to -- wait for the irony -- to build another security gate at the front of the building.

"I had to pay Home Depot," Stamey says with an edge of disgust.

Good thing we had Scam Cams all over the place.  We got pictures of this guy at the blood bank, at a convenience store down the street and outside a pawn shop where he tried to hock the jackhammer.
