Stop Thief! Apartment break-in downtown

The folks who run the 750 Adams Place Apartments in Downtown Memphis think this guy's a friend or family member of one of their tenants.

The Action News 5 Scam Cam rolled on him as soon as he stepped out of the elevator.  He walked to the rear entrance, let a few tenants in, then grabbed a fire extinguisher out of the laundry room.

He tossed the fire extinguisher right through the glass door into manager Ruth Jones' office.

"In this office, we keep all the documents on all our tenants," Jones says.  "So it's locked up and pretty secured.

"He might have been thinking there was money in here, which we don't keep."

He didn't steal anything, but he damaged property and attempted identity theft.
