Car crashes into house during domestic dispute

Debbie Smith says it sounded like a bomb went off when a speeding car crashed through her bathroom wall.

"And the lady next door told me that her home shook," she said.
Smith was just about to step into her shower, which is connected to a tub that is now torn to pieces.

She says she's glad she wasn't in it."I probably would have been hurt. I would have possibly been killed."
Smith's neighbor, Aldwyn Singleton, never met her prior to this incident. "I'm very sorry that did have to happen to Ms. Smith. It's just crazy."
A confrontation between Singleton and his former friend, George Thornton, led to the mess, which Singleton says started in his driveway."And I tried to drive away, but he ran up to my car and got into my car."
He says Thornton bit his arm and his finger. "I had to get a tetanus shot."
The two men struggled behind the wheel before the out-of-control car sped directly into Smith's house.
"I was driving and trying to get him out of the car," said Singleton. "I never meant to hurt anybody's home. I just wanted to get him out of the car."
Thornton was charged with burglary of a motor vehicle, reckless endangerment and domestic assault.
"I'm very upset and very nervous about the whole thing," said Smith.
She says she may never use her master bathroom again.
