Brutally cold wind chill expected in western Tenn.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) - Frigid weather moving into Tennessee has prompted forecasters to caution of dangerous wind chill factors.

The National Weather Service office in Memphis issued a statement early Wednesday for northern counties of West Tennessee.

Forecasters said Arctic air would filter into the region behind the afternoon passage of a strong cold front, dropping temperatures into the lower teens by Thursday morning and producing brisk northerly winds.

Wind chill factors of 0 to five below zero were expected between midnight Wednesday and 10 a.m. (CST) Thursday.

Some cities in the cautioned region are Union City, Martin, Dresden, Paris, Dyersburg, Humboldt, Milan and Huntingdon.
