MEMPHIS, TN (WMC-TV) - A Memphis woman was among those rescued Thursday when a US Airways jetliner splashed down in the Hudson River.

According to the Tidewater News, Claudette Mason, was traveling for her employer, International Paper, when she was on the plane that went down after hitting a flock of geese Thursday afternoon.

Mason called her daughter shortly after the plane splashed down.

"My plane just went into the Hudson River," the article says Mason told her daughter, Lynette Blunt-Joy. "I just want to let you know, in case I don't make it, that I love you."

The article says family members eventually realized Mason was OK when they saw images of her boarding a rescue boat on CNN.

Mason was checked at a New York hospital after suffering some back pain, and was in good spirits, family members said in the article.
