Millington man shoots children with pellet gun for "fun"

MILLINGTON, Tenn. (WMC-TV) - A Millington man was charged with aggravated assault Wednesday for shooting three children with a high-powered pellet gun.

Charles Lee, 21, admitted to police that he was aiming for the kids at the Westside Mobile Home Park.

His reason? Lee said he was just having fun.

Police say that under the law, a pellet gun is treated the same as a knife or pistol, and can be just as dangerous.

"Especially if you shot one of them in the eye, could put an eye out," said Lt. Jimmy Little with the Millington Police Department. "And I've heard of instances where somebody was shot in the eye and it killed them."

In a phone interview, Lee said he regrets what happened and says it wasn't his intention to hurt the children.
