Something of note: Quinn favors Strait, not Elvis

COLLINSVILLE, Ill. (AP) - A week into his gig as Illinois governor, Pat Quinn is setting the record straight about his musical tastes.

Quinn took over as governor after Elvis-loving, scandal-plagued Rod Blagojevich was given the boot. And Quinn isn't disappointed that Blagojevich, the affable showman with Elvis hair, took the king of decorations with him.

Quinn jokes that the Elvis statue has left the building. It was taken out of Blagojevich's former Statehouse office in Springfield when he was ousted.

Make no mistake, Quinn says he favors country legend George Strait. And he hopes that guitar-swinging star makes a stop at the governor's mansion when he visits the state later this year.

Quinn won't be cruel to Elvis. But when it comes to Strait, he says "there's a real star."
