Tigers 5th in AP College Basketball Poll

It's another week, and another move UP for the Memphis Tigers in College Basketball's National Polls..

Any higher and Tiger fans will need oxygen to contain their excitement..

The U of M is back in the Top 5 in the Associated Press..

The writers jump Memphis 3 spots to number-5 in the Nation..

The Coaches jump the Tigers 4 spots this week..

Memphis coming in number 6 in the ESPN-USA Today Poll.

Unlike last years' run to the National Title game when the U of M was ranked in the Top 5 most of the season...this years' Tigers squad has been on a Roller Coaster ride with the Pollsters..

Memphis started out ranked 12th November, but fell completely out of the polls in December..

Now, thanks to its' 16-game winning streak, the Tigers are rising faster than a rocket.

But, Head Coach John Calipari is phylosphical about the move.

Calipari says his team has continues to win while other teams ranked ahead of the Tigers continue to slip and fall.

He says he's just glad his team is in position to keep moving up.

The Tigers next host S.M.U. Wednesday night at FedExForum.
