MEMPHIS, TN (WMC-TV) - The church that bought the Hickory Ridge Mall has big plans for its future.  Thursday, officials at World Overcomers Church gave a sneak peak of what they have up their sleeves.

Business owners and neighborhood leaders signed in at the grand opening eager to hear about the mall's new plans.  Most said they were not disappointed in what church leaders had to say and show them.

"We're saying lets bring some shops, stores, businesses, training and education, (and) social services here so you can have your mall back again," said Al Cousins of World Overcomers Church.

Back again - after a tornado slammed into the mall last February, and anchor stores like Dillards and Macy's decided to leave.  World Overcomers Church purchased the mall several months ago, and church leaders say you will be able to shop here again by the end of June.

The new Hickory Hill Mall will feature everything from stores, to a huge day care center, to a movie theater.

Why-Yem Gilatti said his Arby's Franchise will be one of the restaurants returning.

"We need to do something," Gilatti said. "We have been sitting without jobs for the last year and a half. We want to come back now and do some business and make some money to take care of the family."

And while Sears appears to be the only major store still open at the mall, church leaders say they have high hopes for negotiations with the Incredible Pizza Company.
