Harding Makes It 2 In A Row

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Keilan Stittiams' 14-foot jumper with

one second remaining gave Harding Academy a 59-57 victory over St.

George's in the Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association

Division II-A boys' state championship Friday night.

The win gave the Lions back-to-back state championships after

last year's victory over Tipton-Rosemark.

A back-and-forth battle was still in doubt in the final minute

at David Lipscomb's Allen Arena, after Mr. Basketball Bobby Parks

Jr. pulled St. George's even at 57 with 55 seconds remaining. Parks

led all scorers with 29 points, while Harding standout Stittiams

had 27.

After Parks' tying basket, the Lions ran the clock to set up

Stittiams for one final shot. He sized up defender Asa Toney and

drove to the left wing, where he knocked down the fade-away jumper.

Harding's Marlon Brown added 11 for the Lions, while Allen

Bobango had 11 and Toney 10 for the Gryphons.
