3-Tigers Take High Individual Honors in Conference USA Basketball

3-Tigers earn top honors for their play this season.

As expected, Point Guard Tyreke Evans is the C-USA Freshman of the Year.

Evans won the Freshman Rookie of the Week honor a record 9-times during the season..

Since taking over the point for the U of M, the Tigers have won 22-straight games.

He leads Memphis in Scoring at almost 17 points per game.

Evans is joined on the All-Freshman squad by former Raleigh-Egypt High star Arnett Moultrie, a forward for UTEP.

Tigers Senior Antonio Anderson is named Conference USA's Defensive Player of the Year.

The 6'6" Guard regularly takes on the oppositions' best player...

It's the 3rd straight year a Tiger has won this award.

Former Tiger Center Joey Dorsey captured the past two.

Anderson is joined on the Leagues' All-Defensive squad by Teammate Robert Dozier.

Dozier leads the Tigers in Blocked shots this season with 53.

And Tigers Freshman Wesley Witherspoon is named the Conference USA 6th Man of the Year.

The 6'8 Rookie from Geogia proved himself a vital component playing everything from point guard to power forward.

Witherspoons says he's surprised by the honor, considering he missed a couple of weeks recovering from knee surgery..

Witherspoon and the Tigers have a Bye in the C-USA Tournament which opens Wednesday at FedExForum.

They'll play the winner of Wednesday's Tulane-East Carolina game Thursday at 6pm.
