MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - The Memphis Grizzlies have added a former NBA Defensive Player of the Year, according to reports.
The Athletic's Shams Charania reported that the Grizzlies and Joakim Noah agreed on a one-year deal on a veteran minimum salary.
Noah was a key cog in the Chicago Bulls teams years ago, but has been injured and ineffective in recent years.
He hasn't stepped on a court this season, and he played just seven games in 2017-18 and played just 75 games combined the two years prior.
But Noah was a force between 2009 and 2014 with Chicago, making two All-Star teams and winning a Defensive Player of the Year Award.
Noah will add another big man to the Grizzlies bench, able to sub in for Marc Gasol with a similar skillset to the Grizzlies' franchise man.
