MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - U.S. Representative Steve Cohen, D-Tennessee, said Tuesday he is planning to run for re-election in 2020 and 2022.
Speaking at a New Year’s Day prayer breakfast, Cohen announced his upcoming bids for Congress while touting his relationship with Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-California.
Cohen represents Tennessee’s ninth congressional district. He is a native Memphian who filed to run for office the same day he first registered to vote, according to his Congressional biography.
Cohen previously served as delegate and vice president of the Tennessee Constitutional Convention, Shelby County commissioner, Tennessee state senator and in the Tennessee General Assembly. He was first elected to Congress in 2006.
