Cold rain to start the weekend

Temperatures will hold in the upper 30s to low 40s through evening with isolated showers possible, especially north of Memphis into northeast Arkansas and northwest Tennessee.

OVERNIGHT: Showers early but cloudy most of the night. Continued cold. Winds: ESE 5-10 mph. Low: 39.

SATURDAY: Rain will be likely for most of the day Saturday as a low pressure system moves through the area. The heaviest rain will move through early morning through early afternoon. The widespread rain will move out by Saturday evening, but some isolated showers or drizzle could linger into early Sunday. Highs will be in the mid to upper 40s. Lows will be in the upper 30s.

SUNDAY: Cloudy with some drizzle possible. Highs in the low 40s at best. Winds will be northwest at 5-10 mph.

NEXT WEEK: Temperatures will gradually rise next week with highs in the lower 40s Monday then above 50 Tuesday and Wednesday. Monday looks mostly cloudy with more sun returning by Tuesday. Lows will be in the low to mid 30s. Clouds return by Thursday and Friday with a small chance of rain to end the week.
